Roots was born from a straightforward concept and a determination to bring it to life. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green established Roots, driven by their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and all it symbolized for them. They began in Toronto with footwear and expanded to include premium leather bags, jackets, accessories, their iconic salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber apparel, and home decor. The leather goods have always been, and continue to be, produced in Canada at our own facility in Toronto.
